11701 NE 95th St. Suite A                              Facebook

Vancouver, WA 98682

(360) 571-8000

What does your business do?  We are a full service insurance agency that takes care of all personal insurance needs, commercial, special events and life insurance needs.  American Family is in 13 states and we issue policies in both Oregon and Washington.  Our office has been here for 11 years, which is how long American Family has been in the state of Washington.  We strive to be a good community partner, educate our customers on insurance before a claim occurs and to be a great resource for our clients.

Proudest professional moment?  I spent nearly 30 years in banking and was very fortunate to participate in a very competitive commercial loan training program that only 4 could be in at any one time.  I have had many interviews for employment but the interview process for this was very rigorous, competitive and I was so proud to be selected for it.  It launched my career in the industry along with my confidence in what I was capable of doing.

First job?  I worked for Two Clowns Drive-In in Longview, WA!

Fun Fact: I actually have a couple.  I was adopted at birth and have a wonderful relationship with my birth Mother’s side of my family.  I also love to sing and spent 1.5 years recording a CD at a studio in Battle Ground.  It was so fun to do this and something I am happy I did.  I have an entirely new appreciation for the professional artists and what it takes in time and money to do this.

Favorite spot of a Saturday night?  If the weather is good, I love being with my husband and dogs sitting by a campfire.  If not so good weather, then inside watching a movie or sports hanging with my husband and friends or family!

Favorite movie?  Lots of them!  However, Top Gun has to be the one I’ve watched the most!

Music of choice?  Country music for sure, but Maroon 5 is right up there along with other pop artists!

Favorite place to eat? Mill Creek Pub in Battle Ground and Ringside Grill in Portland.

Motto / Inspirational Quote:  Volunteerism is the rent we pay here to be on earth – Muhammad Ali.  I am a firm believer of this.  We have a responsibility to leave a legacy behind and hopefully a better place to live for our children and grandchildren.  I have been Rotary for 16 years and I do it to help make a difference in someone’s life.  Oddly, I think I am the one it has had the most profound impact on.

Specials or Discounts? We offer multi-product discounts, new home buyer discounts, claims free discounts and good driver discounts.

Motto or Inspirational Quote:  “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.  It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.  We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.” – Unnamed
